So I've almost run out of iCloud space and I've noticed WhatsApp is taking up a significant amount of space within the backup for my iPhone, as well as having its own separate backup on iCloud. Does this mean I am effectively storing a WhatsApp backup twice? Can I therefore disable WhatsApp under 'Choose data to back up' within my iPhones backup, and instead just keep WhatsApp's own separate backups enabled?

That's an enormous amount of data, is there nothing you can purge? Got any old backups still lingering?
I know! My iCloud photo library is taking up 33gb somehow, definitely could do a clear out of old videos but would take a lot of time. WhatsApp is increasing my iPhone's backup by 5gb in addition to using 3gb when backing separately, hence I was asking if I could disable it within my iPhone's backup without losing anything if I keep the separate 3gb backup. I've done so anyway so hopefully it'll be fine.
