Backlight does not autodim

Since JB my iPhone 4 running 4.2.1, my screen does not auto dim or auto shut off after any amount of time...it just stays on. Am I missing something obvious here? I've searched through my settings and didn't see anything blatantly obvious. It's not really a problem unless I forget to shut off the screen and put it in my pocket. It SMOKES my battery if I leave the screen on.

What did you set the auto lock on your phone?

Just checked and it was set to never. Changed it to 1 minute and that did the trick. Thank you! That was bugging me so much.
