I have a Macbook Pro 13 inches, 2017 Model, Recently I observed 8 white spotlights projecting upwards to screen, When I contacted apple customer support I came to Know this has been Manufacturers issue for 2016 Model and devices sold during 2016-2018, it is also listed in apple forum. So Apple decided to have a Quality Program for these devices. While my Macbook pro is having same issue but they refused to get fixed because it is not 2016 model. Even the Engineering team in India acknowledged the issue and sent an email for exception request, in all this process my device was with the local service centre was for 40 days and after that today I was told it is not the 2016 Model and won't be covered under the quality program and if you need to get it fixed it cost me 63K INR. It is highly disappointing that something being manufacturing defect I have to pay such a huge amount. Apple is robbing people even if they have poor quality.

Not much you can do... It's an out-of-warranty issue, which Apple is not fixing (at this time)
But, you can hope that your 2017 model might be added to the repair program.

Did you ask if your repair qualifies for a "flat-rate repair"?
That is specifically for repairing issues that involve a manufacturer's failure, but the repairable system is no longer in warranty. I think that flat rate varies from country to country (or may not be available in your country), but I think you should ask about that. When I last checked, LCD replacement for a 13-inch MBPro (in the US) was a flat rate of US$475 .
Maybe that is not helpful for you...
And (unless or until Apple adds your model to their repair program) the "spotlights" would be annoying, but for many users, something that you can choose to live with.

I don't know why they are not considering under quality program when they have already considered 2016 Models, it's annoying. In my country it's around 52K which is around 700 Dollars
