Brand new M4 MacBook Air 15. Light leaking where the rubber gasket is in the bottom left corner.

This used to be pretty common on pre-notch MacBooks, but I didn't know it was still a thing. Just sloppy quality control.

Taking it back.

Interesting find. I wonder if Apple would consider that a cosmetic problem if someone brought it up after the return period.

Ya would be pretty hard to convince them. It's only obvious in a darker room while looking at something dark on the screen. Still, don't want that opening there because dust will creep in.

Ya I’ve noticed QC has gone downhill with MacBooks. I have two of the same M4 MBA’s and they both have different looking panels. Also, one trackpad feels more coarse than the other that feels smoother. Big time quality control issues.

since i would be unsure if it were only a cosmetic-level out-of-tolerance spec, i would take it back to get apple to replace it.
