My iPhone was srayed with water yesterday. I dried it out well with a blow dryer and let it sit in a bag of rice overnight. This afternoon I took it apart to dry it out better and clean some of the corroded parts. After re-assembling I turned it on and everything works great except the backlight!

I have read about cleaning the corrosion out from under the covers on the motherboard and am thinking about trying that next. I have also read about the restoring the iphone and messing with the brightness settings. I have messed with the settings but can't restore because it's a jailbroken phone.

What is getting me on this deal is that when I power it up, I have backlight for two seconds at the apple screen. Then it goes off and does not come back on.

So, is it corrosion, the sensor, ? I'm lost. I know it's getting power to the light, I just don't know what step to take next.

Thanks,
