Hello everyone,

Today I went to turn on my macbook and the backlight would not come on. It seems like there is a loose connection somewhere, I found if I was to hit the button on the keyboard that brightens the backlight just right it would stay on. This will only work as long as I don't move the screen or accidently hit the buttons that brighten and dim the screen.

Just curious if there is a quick fix for this problem. I have searched around and have not found anything substantial. I would call apple but my warranty just ran out last month, and know that they like to make you pay allot for things that are simply fixed.

Any suggestions?

What model of MacBook? The new white Unibody?

It sounds like an inverter problem, but I think that such problems usually cause kernel panics before anything else.

Does it have a battery you can easily remove?

If so, it's the original White MacBook.

If not, it's the Unibody White MacBook.
