Backlight woes

Brand-new MBA2: the keyboard backlight isn't working. It was, at first, and then just seemed to disappear. I unchecked the low-light adjustment, and still have no backlight (in any conditions). Any fixes, please?

And...I go away for a few hours, and the keyboard lights back up! Magic that is beyond my imaginings.
