Backlit keyboard on 2012 13" MBA

I just got my 2012 13" MBA with i7/8/256, and my backlit keyboard is not working. When I hit the keyboard brightness button it doesn't do anything. Is there a setting or something I have to turn on? Or did I just get a faulty model?

EDIT: Nevermind, it just started working.
