backlit keyboard

I know it's asked often but jeez they sell enough laptops to know people prefer a backlit keyboard yet they don't use this common sense to carry that over and create a backlit keyboard for my imac. They went through all that trouble making the new wireless extended keyboard and STILL no backlit keys. Apple even went through all the trouble of individual lit keys on their macbooks so each key is uniform lit yet I can't even get the basics with the magic keyboard. what the heck apple. why not create ALL your products with the same care.
