Is there any way that I can "mod" my MacBook to put a backlit keyboard in it? If so, can someone tell me where to get the stuff to make it?
Thanks.

You should buy a MBPro, get your screwdriver out, take it apart and get the keyboard out. Throw the rest in the bin or sell it for spares on eBay.

Disconnect the backlight LEDs.

Get your screwdriver out again and open up your macbook and remove the keyboard.

Merge the two boards together and put back in to the MB.

IMPORTANT - remember to make a video of this - and post it here :)

The keyboard in the Macbook is integrated into the top case, its impossible to remove. You'd have to do some pretty fancy metalwork to get fibre optics or LEDs in there which would likely destroy the case. The MBA has the optics already integrated within the top case and they're far from being compatible with the regular MB.

So basically you're SOL.

Neat idea, but the whole back-lit keyboard feature is so gimmicky I doubt it's worth the cost/trouble.

But then again, it would be cool to see you actually go through with it.
