My ipad3 has developed a very annoying habit since updating to ios7. It used to be the case that holding the backspace button would initially delete letters then start deleting entire words until you stopped holding the button. This is still the case on my iphone 4s (running ios7), and still mostly the case on my ipad3......the exception being imessages on my ipad. For some reason pressing and holding the backspace button now only deletes one line of text. As soon as the cursor moves up a line it stops deleting. As I said, this is only happening in imessages on my ipad, nowhere else. I wondered if it was a setting somewhere on the ipad, but I've searched and can't find one that would affect the behaviour of the backspace. I then wondered if it was some glitch with my ios7 install, so i restored the ipad and set it up as a new ipad.....the problem still continues.

I've searched the web, but can't find anything anywhere about this behaviour (it doesn't help that the search terms are pretty generic). Seriously, it's making me feel stupid, is there some blatant option somewhere that I'm missing? Has nobody else come across this behaviour?
