I have setup a site for Chuck/Backtothemac to help aid him and his family in recovering from Rita.

A lot of people on this board have expressed concern and how they can help. If you would like to make a donation to Chuck and his family please go to http://chuck.batou.org

Your thoughts and donations go a long way in helping Chuck and his family.

The site is SSL enabled and donations will go directly to Chuck and his family via PayPal's Secure Donation Payment System.

I sent a small donation, I know it's not much but I hope others here will give a bit of their time, talent, and treasure to help this man and his family out, especially with the holidays coming up.
 
I dropped a small donation as well. Dont have much talent to donate. I have two small kids and would hate to have to worry about christmas gifts etc.
Chuck, I wish you and your family a very wonderful holiday and I hope that luck and fate will look better upon you in the coming year.

I just wanted to say thank you to Ed and the others who come up with this idea. Also, I want to say thank you to everyone that has helped us. The love from everyone here is unreal. Truely unreal. We are blessed to be friends with so many wonderful people, and I owe you all. More than I can express, or ever show.

I wish you and your family the best of luck during this Christmas season.
I live right down the road from you in the river parishes, and I know some people whom are going through the same thing you're going through because of Katrina.

I think you guys should post an address as well. I'd imagine that some people would be happy to give, but the amount that goes to paypal as the avenue, might turn them off.

If somone could PM me an adress I'd be glad to cut a check. Thanks.

I will say a big thanks to all that can help Chuck out. I did what I could myself. In part as a honor to all here on MR that helped me out emotionally in the past year.

How is he doing is he pulling through alright?
Now this may be inapropriate and none of my business but I have the urge to ask, how much did the total donations rack up to? if chuck doesnt mind disclosing the figure.
 
Na, I don't have a problem at all saying how much help we have gotten.

To date, we have received a total of $1,574.00 from everyone helping. It has helped us out more than you can possibly know.

As for an update, we are doing ok. Like I said before, we are close to being where we need to be. The help from everyone here, coupled with the fact that I finally started my new job, and I can say that we are going to be ok.

There is no doubt of that now. Tight, sure, but ok. Definately.

I owe you all, everyone of you, my friendship, my thoughts and my prayers.

I cannot tell you how much it means to me to have friends like those that I have here.
 
glad to hear things are working out. wish i had more flexibility with funds myself to be able to help that way, but i'm glad others have picked up the slack!
