My wife and I both have MacBook Pros. We also have a Netgear wireless router with USB, and we have a 1TB Western Digital USB HD.

First, how do I set up the hard drive so that I can use Time Machine to back up my laptop wirelessly?

Second, can we set up BOTH computers to back up wirelessly onto the same hard drive? Thank you SO MUCH for any help!

Time Machine can backup multiple computers to the same drive no problem, it will simply separate the backups into folders inside the Backups.backupsdb folder (if setup via USB) or into separate .sparseimage files (if setup wirelessly). I don't know the specifics of that setup, and it may not be "officially" compatible with Time Machine, but at least if you plug the drive into each computer first and do a Time Machine backup, then you should be able to connect to it wirelessly (assuming that part works properly) and it will continue to use it for Time Machine.
