Recently i have been looking into buying a backup hard drive hooked up via firewire 800 for my imac...

Im am wanting to make 3 to 4 parattions on the drive
Partitions:
1. time machine
2. SL bootable (incase harddrive dies for what ever reason or if somthing happens )
3. lion bootable (when its released soon)(not sure if imgoing to like it)
4. not sure may not do 4 partions

ive looked at RAID drives and standard 1 and 2 tb drives, i like the idea of raid 1, with a 1tb drive mirrored on the secound..

Is it possible to partition RAID on any drives? Will it work properly? is what i want to do possible?

also note: trying to stay under 150 bucks on drive.

thanks

1tb min will be fine because the sl an lion are going to be bottble the sl being a clone , idk how much is suggest for time machine any idea? currently only using 100 gb of my 500 gb hd
