Hello folks,
I've only been in the Mac world for about 6 months now.

In short, my question is:
Can I backup my home directory to a windows partition on the same disk without experiencing permissions or other unanticipated problems when restoring ~/?

I have a 80 gb win7 partition that I use for games, and am looking to upgrade to Lion with a completely fresh install, now that I am much more fluent and comfortable with the environment. I am hoping simply copying my ~/ to a dir on my ntfs partition will do the trick, and then copying it back to restore after the Lion install.

Are there things beyond permissions that I should beware of?
Are there configuration files stored in ~/ that I need to be conscious of that might make my transition to Lion ugly after I restore the previous Snow Leopard dependent created dir?

The biggest reason I do not want to lose ~/ is because I have a lot of custom configs for audio software, and DJing tags etc. for programs like Traktor that I very much do not want to see ruined :)
