backup on safari

Ever since I upgraded Safari to 4.4.2 I have a problem in going back. And, this only occurs on one web site <<http://nytimes.com/>>
The problem is when I click on the back button, it goes to the current page. In checking the back button (click and hold down to see recent history) I note that the current page is next.
This does not happen with other newspapers or any other sites I visit.
Is this a problem with Safari and the Times, or what?

Running OX 10.4.11
