backup problem with retrospect

Recently I bought one IOMEGA 500GB MINIMAX HDDZML DISCDRIVE INCLUDING ONE RETROSPECT EXPRESS software.

I have in vain tried to get it to workf following the descriiption Part 1 Quick Bacop Mac OS .
Step 1.2,and3 followedl the tutorial but then things vent wrong, (there is no New Botton in the window Retrospect Express Directory and also not in the window Backup Set Creation ).
hope someone can help me
