Backup resets podcast play count

Hi!

I have set up iTunes to sync the last 5 unplayed podcasts to my iPhone, however if I let the phone back up first, all the podcasts that I have played on my iPhone are marked as new and not removed. If I skip the backup, it removes the played podcasts and uploads new ones to my phone.

Does this happen to anyone else? As for now I have to skip the backup and manually backup after the sync.
