I am going to buy a new Imac and in addition to MAC Sierra I will install vmware fusion with Windows 10. What is the best backup tool to use? I have CCC4 will that backup both the mac and vm? Other backup suggestions are welcomed!

CCC (Carbon Copy Cloner!) is a highly recommended - not only by me - backup and cloning tool!
1. Bootable
2. Saves versions
3. Backup to any DS/DAS/NAS mounted to your iMac.
4. You can for sure backup your VMWare Fusion files as well.

BUT! Please take note that for 100% saftey of your data, you do need an offsite backup plan as well.

Cheers
