I need some advice on what is the best way for me to backup my desktop iMac G5 to an xserve that I have at work. I'd like for my computer to make a scheduled complete revised back-up of itself about once a week. I just am not sure what is the best way to go about it. I am not much of a power user when it comes to UNIX (I'm trying...). So far I have only figured out how to connect through ssh using terminal. Right now my account on the xserve just has an empty home folder. Any suggestions on which is the best methodology for doing this and where I can find necessary tutorials. I would really like to use something GUI based and have looked at rsyncx but it appears a little daunting. Any help would be very very much appreciated.
