Hi,

I'm a new member and seeking help with some upgrades, first time for me.
Running a dual processor 2 GHz Powermac G5 (early 2005), 512 MB ram, OSX Tiger 10.4.11. Hard drive has total 152.5 GB.

I'm looking at doing my first backup to 500 GB Lacie d2 quadra firewire hard drive. Wish to make bootable external drive plus separate partition for future backups in the Lacie. Not sure how many partitions I need or what size they should be. Suggestions? I plan to purchase Shirtpocket Super Duper.

After backup, planning to upgrade to Leopard and also add more Ram (have ordered 4GB Crucial Memory). My computer has 4 memory slots. I'd have to remove the original 512 MB Apple memory to go up to 4 GB and I'm nervous about this! I'm also nervous about upgrading to Leopard.

Not sure which order to do things in. I know I need to do the backup first. What next? Add memory or install Leopard? Should I add the new memory all at once or just add 2G for now? Thank you in advance!
