Backup USB Batteries so Flaky!

Hello,

Why does it seem that backup USB batteries for the iphone are so flaky? You read some reviews of them and they literally destroy some phones... other ones (like the one I have) just stop working on the iphone, getting a message that it is an unsupported accessory all of a sudden after it worked for a few months...

should a USB backup battery be indistinguishable from any other USB source?

I own 2 of them and they work flawlessly still.
The first one I bought was from Thinkgeek (I don't think they carry it anymore) and it has lasted for almost 2 years now.
For Christmas I got the Zagg Sparq and it is still going strong with almost daily use.

Hmmm... I am so torn between the ZAGG Sparq 2.0, the TeckNet DualPort 5000mAh or the NewTrent iCruisere 11000mAh.

I live in the UK so the advantage of a fold out plug on the ZAGG is lost sadly! Which one would you recommend?

If you cannot use the fold out plug then I would avoid the ZAGG Sparq since that is the only way to charge it. I have heard good things about the NewTrent but I have no experience with it.

Look for anything with the made for iPhone license.

Mili ones are pretty good.

APC UPB10 are fine

I bought two of http://www.apc.com/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=UPB10 which are long discontinued either in late 08 or sometime in 09 and they've been fine.

I have both the new Trent imp50 and 500. They work great and the price is good.
