hello,

My powermac died last week and I have brought a firewire enclosure so that I can make a backup of the boot disk before I take it in for repair , i'll do this using my macbook.
what is the best way of doing this as I have another firewire drive to put the info on.

and also can i boot from the G5 hard disk on my macbook?

thanks

can anyone help?

i don't believe you can boot from it through your macbook.

but to back up the drive (providing its not the drive thats dead) connect it to your macbook via FW and boot the powermac holding the T key. this will mount it on your mackbook as a hard drive. connect the external and copy over to it using superduper! or CCC
