Trying to backup my startup disc to try Boot Camp but surprise surprise Backup throws up an error:

Begin backup at 2006-04-05 19:05:20.883 +0100
Scanning files...
Acquired a destination for the backup.
An internal application error has occurred. The archive could not be created.
End backup at 2006-04-05 19:07:52.320 +0100

Any idea? It seems to be riddled with 'internal application error'? My backup drive is HFS Journaled.

Actually, thinking about it I've never had any luck with external drives in MacOSX. There's always error messages with files, crashes and hangs. That's on three separate machines - two PPC and one Intel. What gives?
