Backups, clean installs and snow leopard

Hi all

As per the title - is it really necessary?

Im planning to grab the disk, stick it in and press upgrade. Obviously I have a time machine backup in case anything goes disastrously wrong.

Am I supposed to do anything different?

Upgrade is fine, otherwise Apple wouldn't offer it. It's about 50-50 in fresh vs upgrade thread
