When I connect my iPhone to iTunes, it takes quite a while to back up now. It didn't before, anyone know why this is happening now?

Backup iPhone Slooooow

Has anyone noticed how slow it is when your iPhone starts to sync ( when it "backs up" your iphone)

"Backing Up..." taking forever?

So I updated to 2.0 and all was working, and then I plugged my iphone into the comp to sync another app, and now its doing like some sort of MAJOR backup that is taking FOREVER! Has anyone experienced this???

Yes me too! I think its a 2.0 issue.

I came home and did a sync it took about 20 minutes. I unplugged and tried again and again it took just as long.

It takes so long!! It seems like it's "backing up" my iPhone by pulling a Time Machine and copying the entire phone's contents to my computer...

(I don't have any reason to think that except for the fact that it takes so long to complete the Backing Up Your iPhone step...)

I'm sure it's not supposed to take this long... must be a bug, right?

Same here, I think it's because it's backing up the Apps as well.

Will it do a "backup" every single time you sync? Or do I just need to let it finish one time?

Really? For me it seems to be taking ages even if I simply unplug then reconnect my iPhone.

Confirmed. I sync.. everything is up to date. Unplug, plug back in, and it backs up! Takes about 1-2 minutes for me, but still, seems unnecessary.

Same problem here

Having same issue, although its more like 20 min.

I only have half of the drive full too!

Here's my spec's, maybe we can find a commonality (is anyone NOT having this problem?):

- iPhone (1st Generation) running 2.0 (installed early)
- iTunes 7.7
- 2.3 GB Audio, 827 MB Photos, 439 MB Other
- About 18 applications installed
- PC (Windows Vista)
- Sync'ing with outlook calendar / contacts (which I have syncing with google calendar)

I've never had this issue before today.
