I didn't get my iPhone from the store, so I went ahead and disabled data, so I only use wifi. In my house, though, I use Clear 4G and I have the mobil modems and stuff. Is it possible to route my clear signal back to my phone, as opposed to the other sort of tethering?

Doesn't the Clear service give you a WiFi AP for the house? If so, there's your answer.

if not, you could always set up an ad-hoc wifi network from your laptop

Do you know how to set up an ad hoc network to share a PPPoE connection? (on vista) i cant afford a router or win7, and im desperate to be able to use my laptop connection on my phone.

I've tried everything i could find. Is there software that could do this for me? I appreciate any help you guus can offer

This would not be the best forum to ask that question. Try Googling or asking in a Vista forum somewhere.

I did a quick search using "share internet vista wifi ad-hoc" and found the following:
