Does anyone else get really bad battery life compared to OS X with Vista on their MBP? Is it just because of the resource intensive GUI compared to OS X?

I have an Early 08' 15" MacBook Pro that gets about 3.5 hours of battery life. I have XP installed on the machine and doing about the same amount of tasks in XP the battery lasts about 3 hours.

Ditch Vista and get XP!:apple:

Ya I really like XP, but I have these 4 gigs of memory that I would like to fully utilize, and I'll mainly just use my laptop for MathCad and Gaming. The MathCad is fine with XP, but I really want to try out the hybrid motherboard/graphics card to its full extent, which requires Vista 64 bit. I was also wondering if going down to home premium or business from Ultimate would increase the batter life?

The use of XP constatly ruined two brand new MacBook Pro (Santarosa) battery!
In less then a year!
Too bad integration between XP and MAC hardware!!
