Bad battery performance in El Capitan, is it resolved ?

So I've read around a lot on macrumors' forum because I'm about to choose an OS for a MBP 13" late 2011 that Im upgrading with 8gb RAM and SSD.

I was reading a thread about El Capitan and that it made the MacBooks drain a lot more battery compared to Yosemite.. This thread was from when El Capitan was rather new, so I just wonder now that El Capitan is in its' 'final' version, has there been any improvements regarding the battery life issue everyone was complaining about last year ?

I'm using El Capitan on a 2015 MacBook Pro 13", and battery life seems excellent.
The MacBook is only about 3 weeks' old, however.
