your ram is probably fubar.
a new cover and ram might be all you need to replace to fix it
i prey thats all it is :(, it wont switch on atall,

do you know how much roughly ram and case would cost to replace?
someone said to me someting about the system board aswell? i dont know much about these things.

thankyou.

If the logic board is knackered then it's probably not worth repairing unfortunately. Fingers crossed it's just the housing and ram.

thankyou, yea fingers crosse, the the ram is broken, does that explain it not turning on?

my boyfriend should be taking it to be looked at by someone tomorow.

if the logic board is gone, do you know how much i could sell the laptop for as parts? will need to make as much as possible towards a replacement.

thankyou

...

if it were just the ram I would expect that it would turn on to at least the white screen. If it doesn't power on at all then I think you are looking at a new computer. I would probobly try it with no ram in first to see if you get the white screen. If you can't even get that there is probobly no point in buying new ram for it (unless you get it from a place with a money back return policy)

Not much at all.. the logic board is the main piece of value, and that is knackered (or likely to be). The screen is the next main piece of value, then optical drive etc.

You'd be lucky to get anything more than $50-100 for it.
