Hello , sorry if this has been posted b4.
Im from New Zealand and Im wanting to know if a iPhone 4s with a bad ESN from the USA (sprint or verizon networks) can be used on a network here in New Zealand?
We use WCDMA and GSM here in New Zealand.

Any help would be great.

Thanks
Greg

Maybe. Telecom won't connect any more phones to the legacy CDMA network, but if the SIM slot is unlocked then you can use a Telecom WCDMA SIM or Vodafone/2degrees SIM.

No. WCDMA is not... CDMA.

Bad ESN or not, it's not going to work.

I know WCDMA is not CDMA , I know alot about phones and that , but I know nothing about bad ESN's.

I see the iPhone 4s is

GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
CDMA 800 / 1900
3G Network HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100
CDMA2000 1xEV-DO

we are GSM 850 and WCDMA 850/2100 in New Zealand.

I know Telecom is shutting down the CDMA Network.
Im just unsure about phones with a Bad ESN from another country being able to work here with our Networks.

As the iPhone4s is
GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
CDMA 800 / 1900
3G Network HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100
CDMA2000 1xEV-DO

Im hoping it will work on WCDMA as to my understanding ESN's are more to do with CDMA networks.

Thanks
