I recent picked up an old PwerMac 6100 for virtually free, only to discover that it requires an HDI54 adapter in order to able to connect a monitor to it. So I emailed for an adapter, connected it all together and.....nothing. Absolutely not even a suggestion that the monitor is connected to anything at all. Not a flicker. Only the monitor's own display declaring that it is receiving no signal. IS there a way of determining whether I have a bad adapter or whether the Powermac simply has no video output at all? The inside of the Mac is very clean with no visual or olfactory traces of anything burnt or broken.
