Bad headphone plug / connection?

New iPhone 5 just arrived. Fired up Spotify, plugged in the new earpods and got static. Jiggled the cord a bit, it got better. Jiggled again, static and muffled music. Same with the Music app. Bad connector somewhere. Anyone else?

Just tried. Slight improvement, minor static when moving around the base plug. But not as bad as the new earpods. Damn, was really hoping to avoid an Apple Store trip this weekend!

Hi fellas,
what new about this problem? I took my i5 to guarantee care yesterday but I'm afraiding they will not find this problem, because headphones are working pretty often. Is this some kind of touch trouble maybe?
