Bad Microphone 2012 iMac

Hi!
Just got my imac this monday and im absolutely in love with it. Two questions to you who has got your 2012 imac.
When i have a facetime chat with someone and change the volume, the person i talk with complains that he can hear himself.
Have tried to skype with another friend and he complains on the sound quality of the mic. According to him it sounds a bit like im speaking through a box.

Anyone else got this problem?

bad microphone

I just made a video using Photo Boot and my new iMac 2013 (built in microphone). the sound was horrible. Did the same recording on my old Macbook pro 2006 and the sound was excellent. I recorded solo violin from about 3 feet distance.
Is the mic in iMac really that bad or is there some settings i have to do?
Im so disappointed.
