Bad Photo Contrast - iPhone X

Not sure is it phone or its just me being crazy, but it seems photos of my kids are looking so bad with iPhone X. This photo was taken at 9am in shade so not as ideal light situation, but contrast is so bad my kid skin color is so pale and wrong.

Is it me being crazy, could it be just bad sensor with my phone x or????

One day yes, but not every single day...(we take photo of our kid every morning)...it seems photos with iPhone X are not as good as ones with 6S+ or 7+ that we had/have. Honestly, we have had every single iPhone and never had these issues before, where photos just look bad, and contrast is so off.

This looks like the reason I returned the 7+. Did you zoom? The issue was mainly on light skin tones. Would make skin tones look ‘sickly’ or have bad watercolor effect. If you are using zoom, stop as IMO it’s worthless with people. Tolerable with objects in good light.

Even if you didn’t zoom the light here isn’t so bad to cause this IMO.

Color temperature is off because it is early in the morning with likely only blue sky to illuminate.

To me that is why it is cold and blue.

I can not judge the skin tones.

Correct! "Golden Hour" is before sunset.

Skin does look good except the center of his face! A little dark!

It was a good shot, sad we have to do these things to protect our kids these days. A sharp looking kid for sure.

[doublepost=1510864754][/doublepost]The 8+ reminds me a lot of my 6S+ camera, but better.. and that’s a really good thing.
[doublepost=1510865121][/doublepost]Seems obvious but I will add that when taking photos.. make a concerted effort to be very light on pressing the button. These camera ‘bodies’ are feathers compared to real cameras and lenses aren’t even close. Just the slightest motion can affect your image. Be very, very light.
