iPod Bad static when playing music through AE

I've been using AE to stream music to my a/v receiver for almost three years now, and it has worked great for the most part. Suddenly, I have terrible static with the music. The only change I've made on my network is to enable the wireless card access control on my Netgear router. I disabled it as it was before and I still get horrible static through AE. Any suggestions?

What does the static sound like? Is the sound digital or analog. This is just a guess but maybe its something wrong with your reciever or the wire connection and not the AE. Have you tried connecting something directly to your stereo to rule out that possibility?
