bag or sling?

I'm looking to get some transportation for my new MBP when I go off to college, and I have it narrowed down to 2 choices:
MacCase Messenger

or

MacCase Sling
http://www.mac-case.com/MacCase Slings.htm

which one would have more protection? the messenger has a separate sleeve while the sling has a built-in sleeve... they both seem well padded. any recommendations?

Either one would be good for protection, but the slingpack might be easier on your back.

I just started Uni and SO MANY books. Not good feeling on the back with my messenger bag.
