Was really hoping Apple would have done something different with the dialer on the 6+ since the screen is so big and there is so much space, but looks like they took the 5 dialer and just plopped it in the middle.

At least it still looks reachable...from the bottom of the 6+ to the top row of numbers (1, 2, 3), it looks to be about 4" which is the same as from the bottom of the 5 to the top of the screen and I can reach the top of the 5 screen just fine so should be ok.

Thanks n0d3 for the photo. :)

From the reviews I've read it seems that Apple kinda rushed the Plus optimizations. I think we'll see a lot more in iOS 9.

what the hell did you want for a dialer?

In another thread there's a pic from an android phone, the bottom 2/3rds of the screen is the dialer, the top is a scrollable contacts view. Dialer looks much easier to reach.

Touché.

I rarely ever use it anymore. I bet most here don't remember DIALING (as in sticking your finger in a wheel and rotating it).
I do, and I do not miss using payphones. Especially at airports. :blech:

Wouldn't an antique dealer option be cool? Using the huge screen to display the rotary dialer and letting you turn the disler and even make the noise!

Killer app. I'd pay $0.99 for it.

Damn one whole year for a mistake on there end? I don't think it'll take that long. We're do a lot of updates in the next few weeks with the health app and apple pay

While I rarely use the dialer (I only ever call one person regularly) this is one of the Android things I did like a LOT. it puts a list of favorites at the top with the dialer at the bottom.

Adults who use their phone for business and not just calling their mates.

There's this amazing application called contacts that many business professionals use to store phone numbers of important contacts and clients for easier access than having to write down a bunch of numbers and constantly dial them.

I phone several new numbers per day. How do you even enter them into your contacts without using the dialler??

Clearly you've never heard of something called IVR.

I also dial a lot of new numbers for business, often one off situations. It doesn't make sense to put them all in contacts for permanent storage. Not sure how they could optimize the Dialer though. Maybe put the buttons closer to the bottom?

There's been a few of these apps on the App Store over the years and actually worked. No idea if they're still out there however.

For those asking what could they have done different...how about something like this? I'm not some Android fan (only every owned iPhones except for when I tried a Galaxy phone for a couple weeks a few years back) but come on, the 6 and 6+ dialers are a joke.

There are a lot of things you can do with the top, like favorites or as you dial a number it sorts matching contacts, etc.
