I just bought a new Wacom Bamboo Fun Pen and Touch tablet. The LED light never came on recognizing it as a USB device. I went ahead with the install CD regardless and it never came on. Unpugged it from one USB to try another one and it shut down my computer. Now when I plug it in at all, it's shuts down my computer. I just received my laptop back from apple care after I lost power when it overheated and the repair order says the logic board was replaced and the symptom was I/O port related. I had started the install of the bamboo tablet after I let the computer cool down earlier and that's when I originally lost all power and sent it in for repair. I have a 2011 13" 2.3GHz i5 MacBook Pro. Has anyone else had any luck or issues with wacom tablets on their new MBP's? I hate to return the tablet because I bought Sketchbook Pro specifically to be used with it.

Order of events:
MacBook Pro gets super hot while plugged in and charging verizon mifi. Shut down computer.
About 4 hours later, turn computer on to try and install bamboo software and plug in tablet.
Lose power and mbp ceases to turn on.
Send to apple care
Get mbp back and try installing bamboo cd again.
Plug in tablet but no response from tablet.
Unplug from USB port and mbp shuts down.
Turn on mbp and try plugging in bamboo tablet
Mbp shuts down again after inserting tablet into USB.

About to go to best buy and check it out.

Back from best buy where I exchanged tablets. Their display macs didn't recognize it either. This one works. It was just a faulty tablet apparently.
