the use of "meh" and "eh" through the profanity filter. Those must be the two most empty, thoughtless phrases used at this forum. Highly irritating.

anticipated response:"meh... why?"

Meh, because it's annoying.

Are you serious! They're the best terms ever. I can't think of a better way of expressing indifference. :D

Also, please use more specific/relevent titles in future.

I just came in here because the Side bar for this Forum (when scrolling from the index) said

Ban
mad jew

For some reason I didn't see the "by"
I wanted to say..

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

but this topic is on something else so I am feeling better! :)

Gasp! someone has a crush on mad jew!

back on the topic, actually, you are banning them because they are annoying? sounds like it's a matter of personal preferences.

I think you may need to lie down in a darkened room for a while. Mehbe you're spending too much time here?

There are far more moan-worthy things to get worked up about.

*Goes to start another misspelled Nano thread*

I think I could get behind banning single-word "meh" posts, but then on the other hand, someone could probably come up with a really clever and inventive way to use a single-word "meh" post.

So even though hundreds (thousands?) of "meh" posts aren't worth the ink they're not printed in, I say, "meh" away! Maybe someday your "meh" will be regarded as the greatest single-word post since "WAZZUP!"

My fellow Canadians may also object to the banning of "eh", as it is part of our cultural heritage. :)

One word posts excluded, offer void in the sometimes lame attempt of non-Canadians to sound like us... What hozers eh? ;)

Pay attention, children. Your response has been anticipated in the original post.

Under the proposed addition to the profanity filter, your attempt at wit becomes ***, pfft, grr, arrg, gah, **, hmm.

Permission to lock thread granted.

they are good and need to be kept:

simply because they add personality and tone to posts. after all you cant her the inflections and intricacies of one's voice on a forum board like this, and "meh" and "eh" help make things more conversational, personal, and understandable.

but, eh, what do i know?

Right on, eh! :p

This thread is awesome, I love it when people bring up such trite, silly issues - and then I love it when everyone else chimes in as they have done here to bring the proper perspective on the whole matter. Glad to see not everyone is uptight about things like this, or else I'd be worried!
