I've recently upgraded to Monterey and now i wish i hadn't bothered. I frequently use 32bit EXR images. Just opening them now produces very strange banding on my 2018 MacMini, it was a great little machine but this update has made it useless.

I've tried 2021 aand 2022 PS, the result is the same.
Turning of Advance Graphics in photoshop fixes the problem but gives me several other big problems such as random squares appearing in layer masks that aren't actually there, transform too not appearing unless i zoom and and in again. Its basically buggy as hell.

Anyone else experiencing this or now how to resolve it? I don't remember having these problems in Catalina.

Have you given any thought of going back to Catalina?
(why stay with Mojave if it gets in the way of your work...?)

I may have too, i'm not looking forward to wiping the hard drive and starting from scratch again. I wish there was another way.

There is but it will cost you $600

Considering the performance increase is exponential, I find it a great investment on my setup and should add more years to the setup.

I have an RX 580 8GB from my old Mac Pro 5,1 that I put in an egpu box when I got my 2018 Mini.
I agree, with an eGPU the 2018 Mini will see a good life until Apple decides to end official OS support, but then again I'm stuck on Mojave so it's a kind of moot point for me.
