hi, I'm using a weird smartphone plan that's super cheap (10usd/month) and unlimited, but only has 384 kbps. Usually the quality is fine for YouTube at 240p But I'm getting annoyed at situations where I can't read the text or subtitles. I started looking into hevc support on YouTube and instead, they have vp9 as their improved codec. Apparently apple doesn't support it in the iOS YouTube app and I'm not sure if they will in the future.

From some more research I've discovered opera max for android, which compresses every online content including videos saving bandwidth and maybe increase resolution. If i use it, I can hopefully bump the quality to 360p. The problem is that it's only available for android.

Is there any similar programs for iOS? I can't afford unlimited (around 70 usd here) and I'm a big YouTube junkie. I'm sure lots of people are interested as well.
