Looking for recommendations on a docking station for bare hard drives.

Absolute Requirements:
Compatible with both 3.5" and 2.5" SATA drives
Firewire 800
USB 2.0

Very important, but can do without:
Bus-powered (no AC/DC wall wart)

Nice to have:
USB 3.0
Thunderbolt (yeah, right)
Inexpensive

Bus-powered (no AC/DC wall wart)
While FW technically can supply enough power for most 3.5" drives, to my knowledge there was only one bus-powered 3.5" drive product, EVER, the WiebeTech Super DriveDock+, which was ATA-only and discontinued on top of it.

Inexpensive
So far as I've ever seen, the existence of a FW800 port eliminates this as an option.

I'd wager what you want is the NewerTech Voyager Q; it's quad-interface and handles both sizes of SATA drives. It's on the expensive side compared to USB-only drive docks (it can be found for about $75, where most off-brand USB/eSATA ones are around $30). No USB3 (is anybody even making a FW/USB3 controller yet?), although Newer does make a USB3 (only) dock as well (at $35, you can probably just buy it as a second one if you ever need USB3 in addition to FW800/eSATA).

Thanks for the tip, that looks like a good one.

No USB3 (is anybody even making a FW/USB3 controller yet?)

BTW - the link you provided does appear to be FW/USB3, so you've already found it even if you don't realize it. :)
