Barely any Battery Life?

Hey,

My wife has a macbook and the battery no longer seems to hold a charge. If the powercord ebcomes unplugged for more than a half a minute it just shuts itself down.

I am hoping this is not a battery problem, although it most likely is, but I was wondering if this was a common problem or not?

(Her Macbook is about two years old now)

eBay has decent priced batteries, I have had good luck with them.
