Does a base 13 inch MBP (2011) have the power to haul Aperture3 and a Cinema display?

I want small for ”on the go” and huge for when I am at home. Does this combo work? Or do I need a 15 inch MBP? More RAM, faster cpu or ???????????

I am new to mac and this forum. GF has a iMac and I am getting hooked ☺

No idea about the display but I'm using the base 13 and running aperture 3, Photoshop cs3, VMware fusion, sketchbook pro, etc just fine. The specs page on apple says it can drive one external display but I forgot the max resolution.

Yes it can. I have a base 13" and I drive a 1080p monitor (not cinema display) and have no problem running photoshop, illustrator and dreamweaver at the same time.
