Base 15" vs. 24" iMac

Hello everyone! Thanks in advance for any advice. I'd like to know how the base 15" MBP is compared to a 24" iMac with 2.93 Intel Core 2 Duo, 4gb ram, NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 with 256MB VRAM for things like photo editing in Aperture. Also how would it compare in gaming? I know everyone is talking about how bad the 6490M is, but what is it like in comparison to the GT 120? Thanks for your thoughts! :D
 
The GT 120 would be a little better, but i7 in the base would be a lot better than that core 2 duo that you have now (correct me if im wrong). Honestly, your better off just keeping your iMac, because the base 15" has a lower resolution, smaller screen, it has abetter cpu, but it has about the same gpu, same ram, slower hdd, yada yada yada.

If your going to upgrade, you need to get more than a base 15" to notice a difference between the iMac that you have now
