Hi There,

I know there is a separate panel lottery thread for all those new iPhones (17, 17 Pro (max), Air) out there...
But here I just want to know what display manufacturer do you all have with your base iPhone 17 and if you're happy with it.

To find out which display you have:
1. Press vol up/down and lock button at the same time for around a second
2. after 1-2 min. see within: SETTINGS > PRIVACY AND SECURITY > ANALYTICS AND IMPROVEMENTS > ANALYTICS DATA
3. find sysdiagnose.... item
4. open and extract it to 'finder'
5. check within folder 'ioreg' for 'IODeviceTree'
6. search for 'panel' and find the last of the five entries (the beginning of the code is the manufacturer)

(and here you can find the corresponding thread concerning all those actual phones (without a poll)

Thanks

this part is going to happen where? on the iphone itself?

Hmm, it should yes, but this is the more reliable method to trigger the analytics:
  1. Settings - Accessibility - Touch - Assistive Touch -> turn on
  2. Set Single-Tap to: Analytics
  3. Hit the Assistive touch button : it will say something on the device like “gathering analytics” or something
  4. Then you can wait a few minutes and check the Analytics data from the original comment, it should appear correctly now.
I hope it works for you now. The volume button trick didn’t always work, but this one did every time I tried
