Hello,

Last week purchased base MBA 13”. I use it for work which I need to login to vpn which is windows. I am wondering if I should exchange it for 15” mid/high model. It seems to work well, but I keep my laptops close to ten years. When I am not working, it is just light use. Also, while I can see the screen at times it seems to small (I’m getting old).

Also, one problem I have is it will not connect to a dell dock/monitor. I installed Display Link and for a quick moment it connected, but showed my background, not the screen I was on. Very weird. I have read different comments online that they should be able to connect vs it never works.

Thank you, any input on upgrading would be great.

Get the bigger screen. Your eyes won't get any better.
My wife had this choice, used to use a 13", and absolutely loves her 15" MBA.

The only way to know is to try for yourself.

I would Return what you bought and get a 15" air. Try it for 10 days. Return it.

Now you will have used both models for at least a week and should have a pretty good idea what works best for you.

My personal opinion is that I would get the highest spec model 13". I like the portability of the 13" which is a big part of it's ease of use. Use the extra money I would have spent on the 15" for higher specs like more ram and storage or GPU.

Only by trying both models will you know?
