I attempted to change the username of my Tiger 10.4.11

However I forgot the consequences..

Amongst the essential missing files include:

* iTunes library
* Pictures

The main problem is, the memory indicates the files are still on the computer somewhere; instead of 298 GB I still have 240 GB.

Are the music and pictures retrievable? If not, how do I refresh my Hard Drive memory

Kind Regards

Artur

Yea, changing the user name can definitely have negative side effects, and is why it's generally avoided. Leopard makes it easier though.

The folders in question are probably in your old user name folder. See if you can see it in Finder under the Users folder. If you're comfortable with Terminal you can check with it as well.
