What kind of differences am I likely to expect? The most strenuous activity I do on my Mac on a regular basis is loading multiple very large PDF files and multitasking with Safari and Powerpoint. Occasionally, I will do light work in iMovie. I am aware of the impending MBP refresh, but am trying to save money once the new ones are released.

You'll likely get better battery life on the newer model.

Are you looking at 13" or 15" rMBPs?

Well I'm undecided. I'm not opposed to a 15". I've just started to get frustrated when I upscale my retina resolution to 1650xwhatever and it gets really laggy. EDIT: I'm definitely in a line of work that could benefit from the added screen real estate. So what would a 13" 2013 --> 15" 2015 be like?
